the "seven-in-one" vaccine id card was jointly launched by the zhejiang provincial, hangzhou municipal and xihu district health departments in hangzhou on march 20.
the card is automatically generated by the system after citizens receive their vaccine. it contains seven codes: an electronic supervision code, vaccine batch number, disease control department code, hospital code, cold chain equipment code, medical staff code, and recipient code. such information can be accessed at any time via the zheliban mobile app.
the codes record information relating to vaccine production, distribution, cold chain and vaccination, ensuring data traceability, transparency and security. blockchain technology also enables the data to be encrypted for storage and transmission.
the vaccine id card upgrades traditional vaccine traceability methods by integrating information collection, monitoring, intelligent analysis, and real-time tracking, improving service efficiency and boosting public confidence in vaccine safety.
officials from the zhejiang provincial center for disease control and prevention stated that the vaccine id card with seven integrated codes is being introduced for the first time nationwide. it is currently being piloted in xihu district, hangzhou, and will gradually become accessible in other districts and counties in the city.
