hangzhou highlighted at intl short video competition
the 4th my china story short video competition drew to an end in hangzhou, capital of east china's zhejiang province on sept 26, local media outlets reported.
seventy-two works created by 71 teams and individuals from 34 countries and regions stood out from some 65,000 entries. they were given more than 200,000 yuan ($27,900) in prize money for their narration of real, holistic, and dynamic chinese stories in multiple forms and perspectives.
hangzhou, the host city of the event as well as of the 19th asian games, became a star at the award ceremony by having a total of 16 works grab honorary titles.
huang haifeng, director of the publicity department of hangzhou, praised the eager participants who made video works recording the city and added that hangzhou was a city of vibrant culture, picturesque landscapes, and innovative impetus.
the my china story competition was first held in 2018 to showcase stories about china by foreigners. the previous editions attracted over 800,000 entries from over 50 countries. over 100,000 creator teams have submitted works in about 20 languages.
