this year marks the 30th anniversary of nanfangmizong baozi, a steamed bread roll with a filling of meat or vegetables. the southern big restaurant started its business in hangzhou in 1992, and its featured baozi was sold on the same day. the store once set a record high of selling 10,000 baozi a day.
