the gongshu canal sports park, which will host the table tennis, breakdancing and hockey competitions of the 19th asian games in september, has been turning heads with its unique design since it was unveiled to the public.
some of its most eye-catching features include a gymnasium with walls resembling fish scales, and a hockey field that is designed to look like an oiled paper umbrella.
the person behind the park's design is winka dubbeldam, who runs new york-based architectural firm archi-tectonics.
