at 12:03 pm on nov 11, china's lijian-1 y5 commercial carrier rocket lifted off from a commercial aerospace innovation pilot zone in northwest china, deploying 15 satellites into orbit, including oman's first: the oman smart remote sensing satellite-1, or simply the "oman satellite".
the satellite's onboard ai processing platform, or "space brain", was developed by star vision, a private company based in xihu district, hangzhou. star vision is also supporting oman's satellite capabilities by providing comprehensive satellite industry solutions like a ground station, control software systems, and local personnel training.
