twelve platforms recently won recognition from the hangzhou government for their active role in helping local cross-border e-commerce brands go global, local media outlets reported.

the platforms were honored for their development plans, facilities, management rules, supportive policies, and detailed services.

the recognition is expected to bolster the platforms' crucial role, speed up the cultivation of local cross-border e-commerce brands, and boost the industry as a whole.

hangzhou is currently home to over 49,000 cross-border e-commerce companies, almost 520 times more than when the industry first took off in the city seven years ago. more than 2,000 trademarks have been registered overseas, and the total import-export value of cross-border e-commerce exceeded 100 billion yuan ($14.39 billion) in 2021.
