ma yuesi, 58, chose to be a guqin maker when he was 24 years old. over the years, as an intangible cultural heritage inheritor, ma never stops improving his skills.

"i've never made a perfect guqin," he said, "if someday i do, i want to write a book to pass down the craftsmanship to future generations."
